Extending the ER1 |
As of today, I do not have much experience extending the functionality of my ER1.
There are a number of options which exist in extending the functionality of the ER1. There is a gripper claw made specifically for the ER1. There is the capability of adding a second webcam to assist in obstacle avoidance. There are bumper sensors to detect when the ER1 has hit an obstacle.
I plan on adding the second webcam. There is also a book called "How to Build Your Own Robot Pet" which though dated, has a number of great suggestions for hardware and software for robots such as the ability to self-feed and add ultrasonic capability to detect distance to objects in the robot pets environment.
The ER1 has an extra outlet in its battery module for powering extensions. As I progress, I will inform you of advances!
